I found COLD MOON to be Deaver's best novel yet. And I certainly didn't get the feeling that Rhymes and Sachs were one step ahead throughout the book, but rather that they were playing a deadly game of "catch up", knowing that if they couldn't figure out who the Watchmaker was more people were sure to die. COLD MOON has an interesting "double-back" twist at the end, which is an improvement on his other novels.
