Second thing: the bassoon guy has the instrument backwards?

Ok, 1. There is not a flute or harpsichord in the picture.
2. Isn’t the bassoon itself backwards. You should not be able to see all the keys from that angle, correct. Looks odd b/c I think the bocal should be on the left side of the instrument in the photograph.

Exactly. He’s got the bassoon backwards, with the bocal turned around the wrong way. And yes, it is completely the wrong instruments on the cover.
